What an immense honour. Truly! Here at home, in Quebec City!
The Cinéma Beaumont presents an exceptional retrospective celebrating the 20th anniversary of MÖ FILMS, our independent production company recognized for its work in auteur-driven documentary cinema, in Quebec and internationally. We warmly thank Jason Béliveau and Ariane Caron Lachance for this generous invitation, which allows us to revisit two decades of creation, meaningful encounters, and artistic commitment.
It all began with a formative 8,000 km bicycle journey from Mongolia to India, which gave rise to our first feature documentary, Asiemut. From this emblematic film to our most recent work, À hauteur d’enfant (At Their Height), this retrospective offers—every Thursday in November—a journey through our films and the evolution of our documentary approach.
We, filmmakers Mélanie Carrier and Olivier Higgins, will be present at the screenings to engage in discussions with the audience.
The retrospective will conclude with a film class, enriched by an exchange with the public. Drawing on excerpts from our documentaries, we will present our artistic approach and discuss our editorial, technical, and creative choices. A unique opportunity to engage around auteur documentary cinema in Quebec.
Come discover or rediscover these films, attend the screenings at the warm and intimate Cinéma Beaumont in Quebec City, and take part in the discussions — it will be a great pleasure to meet you.
