Finding Refuge, an immersive exhibition, finalist at the NUMIX Awards 2026

The immersive exhibition Finding Refuge, produced by MÖ FILMS and the Musée de la civilisation, is a finalist at the NUMIX Awards 2026 in the categories Québec – Exhibition and International – Exhibition. A significant recognition for this project, which resonates both locally and internationally.

A project recognized by the digital industry

Selected among the most innovative projects of the year, Finding Refuge is featured in the official list of finalists unveiled in April 2026, alongside outstanding works in digital art and immersive experiences.

This double nomination highlights the project’s reach, firmly rooted in Québec’s cultural landscape while also extending internationally.

An immersive and sensitive exhibition

Designed as an immersive sound journey, Finding Refuge invites visitors to step into the story of Mohammed Shofi, a refugee who fled Myanmar with his family. The experience foregrounds a sensitive narrative approach, carried by sound and listening, at the heart of the exhibition design.

Through this installation, we aim to:

  • convey the human reality of exile through an intimate and embodied narrative
  • immerse visitors in an experience where they are guided and become witnesses to Mohammed Shofi’s journey
  • create a space for listening and encounter that fosters empathy, recognition, and intercultural dialogue
